Today the top trending topic on Twitter is a marketing promotion. It’s not an ‘organic’ trending topic.

Your avatar is that spunky little photo of you that you use when commenting on blogs, on Twitter, on Facebook, on MySpace and on all your social news websites.

Social media is just a buzzword or umbrella term for people communicating online.
The most amazing aspect is the ease at which anyone can publish material. An individual can publish cheaply (even for free), instantly and to a wide audience– possibly a worldwide audience.
Someone just unfollowed me on Twitter!
If someone has unfollowed you, don’t sweat it! It doesn’t automatically mean you’ve done something wrong.
If a lot of people unfollow you all at once, then (and only then) is it time to look at how you’re tweeting, what you’re tweeting and even at how much you’re tweeting.
On Facebook, you might have circles of friends (old & new), family and workmates all mingling in the one space– your profile.
What if a old friend posts a photo of you from THAT party fifteen years ago– a photo that belongs to your wild, wild days? (Or even just one night of letting your hair hang down.)
That blast from the past is currently being eyeballed by everyone you know.
Social shopping is pretty much like overhearing that woman on the bus talk about her latest shopping trip– y’know, the women wearing the boots and accessories that look like they were made for YOU.
And now you can eavesdrop online to your heart’s content! And it’s evolving… some websites are taking social shopping to a whole new level.
